Alcoholic Ginger Beer

After a week of creating the “plant” – water, sugar, ginger powder, yeast and raisins (yeah, I don’t know why either) – the ginger beer is in bottles. Two weeks fermentation and all we need is a test pilot.

The whole recipe has been a bit random, so it will be interesting to see how it comes out…

Pale Creatures out and about

The Little Creatures Pale Ale has been on rotation for a couple of weeks now, and it’s seems to have worked out pretty well. It is more “malty” than the out-of-the-kit ale (understandably) but still tastes like good beer. There is more sludge in the bottom of the bottles, and I’m not sure if this is the mix itself or the use of sugar instead of carbonation drops. Also, it seems to hold the head a bit better – again is this because of the sugar. Still no definitive difference between the 5, 6 and 7 gram sugar bottles – stay tuned.
